Jersey #: 93
Drafted: 2002/Round 1/Pick 11
Height: 6'1"

Personal notes:
Son of Joy and Hugh Freeney, this 6'1", 268 pound baller is set to launch the Dwight Freeney Foundation, which will focus on getting kids active and involved with outdoor activities. The DFF's initiatives will be targeted at boys and girls of all ages in underserved communities in Indianapolis and central Indiana for the first year, with plans to expand to Freeney's home state of Connecticut and beyond. It promotes working out and nutrition, especially for aspiring professional athletes. What you have today can be taken away tomorrow, and I think I was put in this position to help out.
Awards and records:
Freeney set an NFL rookie record in 2002 with 9 forced fumbles, three of which occurred in a single game against former Syracuse football player, Donovan McNabb. Freeney was the runner up for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
In 2004, Freeney's third season, he lead the NFL with 16 sacks. At the end of his third season, Freeney's season marked him as the 3rd fastest player to achieve 40 sacks.
In 2007, Freeney would help the Colts defeat the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI to become NFL Champions.
