Personal notes: I was born the son of Nettie and Ellis Hobbs on May 16, 1983 in Niagara Falls, NY. I was just seven credits short of graduating when I entered the NFL, and four years after leaving college, in the 2009 offseason, I completed my degree and graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in art and design. I learned how to draw from my father. Growing up I always wanted to be an animator for Walt Disney. Drawing is something that really has always been in my family as long as I can remember. My dad used to draw pictures of a lot of things and he is amazing at it, and I used to mimic his drawings when I was a kid. I won several art contests growing up. Since then, I have gotten into animation and graphic design, and I hope to take my talents into that field when my playing days are over.
Awards and records: Hobbs holds the NFL record for longest the kickoff return (108 yards), a feat he accomplished on September 9, 2007 in a game against the New York Jets. Hobbs intercepted a pass by Giants quarterback Eli Manning in the fourth quarter, which ultimately led to the Patriots' go-ahead touchdown in the game that completed New England's perfect 16-0 season.[5] He also intercepted a pass by Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in the AFC Championship Game. In Super Bowl XLII, Hobbs again intercepted a Manning pass that deflected off the hands of New York Giants rookie wide receiver, Steve Smith. Hobbs played in the Super Bowl with a torn labrum in his shoulder in addition to the chronic groin pain previously reported.
