Personal notes:
I was a starter in high school and a walk-on for the Rutgers University football team. My senior year at Rutgers, I was captain of the defensive team and won the team's defensive MVP honors.
During a 16-month span, starting in 2003, I lost my father (a Vietnam veteran), my mother (an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church) and my older brother (a standout linebacker for Glassboro HS). This has affected my pre-game routine. Before each game, I join the defensive players for a time of prayer. Then I walk over to my locker and talk to my parents and brother. Running out of the tunnel, I pump my chest three times to honor them.
I began the IMPACT Foundation in honor of my brother, a foundation to provide opportunities and resources to children afflicted with cancer. I also work alongside Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with their Pennies for Patients program and conduct football camp for kids ages 8-18 in my hometown of Glassboro.

NFL Stats:
In the 2005 season, Brackett he had 131 tackles and 3 interceptions. In 2006, 123 tackles. For his career, he has had 297 tackles and 6 interceptions. Brackett was AFC Defensive Player of the Week on September 11, 2005 after having 9 tackles and 2 interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens. In fall of 2007, Brackett was named captain of the Colts defense.

College awards and records:
Played in 44 career games…had 274 career tackles and was captain in final two seasons...led team as senior with 130 tackles, second-most in Big East...was All-South Jersey College Defensive Player-of-the-Year…was ECAC All-Star...as a junior was recipient of Homer Hazel Award as team's MVP…as a sophomore received 12th Man Award as player who made significant contribution on special teams…was walk-on as freshman and played 65 snaps…had 22 tackles in 10 games.
