The Mission of Gary Brackett's IMPACT Foundation is to provide opportunities and resources to children affected by cancer. The Charity provides interactive programs and resources designed to directly benefit these children and their families.
IMPACT Programs:
- TendHer Heart Luncheon: The TendHer Heart Luncheon is hosted each year to honor the mothers of chronically and critically ill children for the sacrifices they make in caring for their ill child. The Brunch provides these women with the opportunity to "take a minute" for themselves and enjoy each other's company and support.
- Field of Dreams: The Field of Dreams program was established to present children afflicted with cancer and their families with magical memories by fulfilling sports wishes and vacation dreams. In the summer of 2008 we invited 15 families to join Gary at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana and treated each family to a five star experience at the West Baden Springs Hotel & Resort. We also provide a wide range of opportunities to throughout the year for kids to enjoy, including a night of bowling and games at Jillian's and tickets to the Colts and Pacers games.
- Gary's Locker: Gary's Locker provides "Welcome Packages" to all incoming pediatric cancer patients and/or allows the patients and their families access to notebook computers, movies and video game systems to occupy their time while visiting the hospital. In the spring 2007 we placed the first locker in the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent. In the fall of 2008 we provided the second Gary's Locker to the blood disease wing at Clarian North Medical Center. In total the lockers will reach over 15,000 kids in 2008 and 2009.
The purpose of each of IMPACT’s programs is to provide daily support and life changing experiences for Indiana children and their families. Their goal is to reach over 75,000 kids by 2010.
