The Eagles yesterday acquired linebacker Will Witherspoon from the St. The Eagles yesterday acquired linebacker Will Witherspoon from the St. Louis Rams for rookie wide receiver Brandon Gibson and a fifth-round pick in 2010.
The Eagles, who play the Washington Redskins on Monday night, picked up an eight-year veteran who this year has 36 tackles and one forced fumble this season.
Witherspoon has made more than 100 tackles three times in his career and has missed only two games to injury. Witherspoon played this season under Spagnuolo, a disciple of late Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, so he should be familiar with the Philadelphia system.

OAKLAND -- Kevin Kolb is the third quarterback for today's Eagles-Raiders game. That means only Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick are active. Kolb can only be used in the case of an emergency. If he enters the game before the fourth quarter, McNabb and Vick can't re-enter. Read Full Story
