I draw inspiration from my father, Gilbert, who used to train by running through the woods dodging trees to simulate making cuts on the football field. I didn't pick up tree dodging, but I did pick up dad's work ethic. I've always been obsessed with working out. I always felt the extra work would do nothing but make me better.

While I was a freshman at Georgia, my father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had to undergo surgery and was forced to retire from his career in construction. It was a rough time for my family. Sometimes he couldn't remember my name. My mother, Bobbie Jean, was always calm and composed through it all. She was really strong. And the way he pulled through it is probably the reason that I am in the NFL right now. It made me work so much harder, so that we could all have a better life.

College awards and records:
A two-year starter at Georgia, caught 144 career passes for 2,008 yds. and 12 TDs, becoming only the 5th player in school history to surpass the 2,000-yd. plateau. As a senior, earned first-team All-SEC honors as he led the team with 53 catches for 860 yds. (16.2 avg) and 6 TDs. His 49 catches as a junior also led the team. Suffered a torn ACL in 2001 and received a medical redshirt. Hauled in 13 passes for 143 yds. and a TD as a true freshman.

Posted 62 recepts. for 1,046 yds. and 10 TDs as a senior at Carrollton (GA) HS, earning All-America and Atlanta Journal-Constitution POY honors. Also earned All-America and Georgia POY honors as a junior in 1998, leading the team to the Class AA State Championship. During his four-year career, his high school compiled a 50-6 record
