PERSONAL NOTES: I was born in Dayton, OH to Paul and Yevetta Laws. I was their first child, but Mom had a child from a previous marriage...my older brother, Drew. From the beginning, Drew and I were two peas in a pod. Two years later, Daniel was born and the family was complete. We three bros were constantly together, whether it was playing football in the front yard, or busting out walls inside playing nerf basketball...we were inseparable. As we grew up, we stayed very close. I became engrossed in sports of all kinds. Daniel played sports as well, but he was more interested in the extreme variety like skateboarding and snowboarding. Drew was busy playing hoops and hanging out. Once I got into middle school, I quit basketball and picked up wrestling based on the suggestion by a coach. It probably changed my life. I blew up in high school in both wrestling and football. I dominated in wrestling, which made me tougher and more aggressive for football. I finished high school with the highest winning percentage of any wrestler Apple Valley had ever seen, but my true love was football. My football career was also in full gear. I ended up being the Gatorade Minnesota Player of the Year my senior year.

Going to Notre Dame was one of the best decisions I ever made. I made lifelong friends, played football for the best college in the nation and opened doors that I might not have if I had gone somewhere else. My senior year was highlighted by leading the team in tackles with 112, one shy of the Notre Dame all time record for a defensive lineman.

Now, other than football, I enjoy cooking and eating good food. I'm a big Food Nework guy. Bobby Flay is my man. I try to be like him and pick up as much as I can, but it's tough sometimes. You don't get this big without liking food a little bit.
